Serial numbers from 1468101 to 1470000 were originally allocated for Leica R3 cameras, but within this range a small number of M4-2 “pre-production” units were produced—making this a particularly rare variant.

This example retains its original “L” seal, confirming authenticity. The exact number of pre-production M4-2 cameras is unknown, as their serials were mixed into a batch of 2,000 Leica R3 SLRs manufactured in Leica’s Portugal facility in 1977.

Distinctive features include the Leitz logo, a Leica M4 black chrome–style film advance lever, the inscription “Leitz WETZLAR” on the top plate, and an additional “MADE IN CANADA” engraving.

The camera is in mint condition with no sign of use. It have no bright mark, no ding or dent. The “L” seal is still in tack.

Finder is pristine. No haze, fungus. Focus path is sharp.

All function work good. Shutter speed work very well.
