This camera was manufactured in 1966 as part of a limited batch of 504 units. It was specifically produced for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and designated as the Leica M2 KS15-4 “Camera Still Picture.” This model is a specialized version of the Leica M2, featuring the quick-loading mechanism of the Leica M4, earning it the nickname “Leica M2S.”

In addition to the upgraded loading system, this camera was equipped with a unique weather-resistant coating on the baseplate and extra dust seals around the pressure plate mating area, enhancing its durability in harsh environments.

The camera has been restored and repainted in black paint by its previous owner. The quality of the paint job is exceptional, rivaling that of a factory restoration.

● Appearance condition

The body is near Mint condition. There is a little patina brass show at edge of the camera near Film advange lever. No thing deep.

Vulcanite is original. Back door vulcanite was fixed a little bit, but all vulcanite is original too.

● Functional Condition

Working flawlessly. Shutter speed is accuracy. Film counter work very well.

original shutter curtain. Viewfinder is pristine with no haze and no fungus.
