MINT – Leica M3J Modified from an M6 – Made in Germany
The Leica M3J is a rare and highly collectible variant of the iconic Leica M3 rangefinder camera, produced in limited quantities for the Japanese market. The Leica M3J is a special edition of the Leica MP with Leica M3 styling. It was issued in a limited edition of only 200 cameras by Leica Camera Japan. Prices for a Leica M3J can range from over 20,000 USD to 30,000 USD and more.
That’s why we bring you an affordable version of the Leica M3J. This camera was modified from a Leica M6 and repainted with a brass top in the Leica M3 style, with the top made new by a CNC machine.
The M3J has all of the classic features: the M3 raised edges on the windows, the M3 style rewind, advance film lever and counter, and the early “Buddha ear” or “dog ear” lugs. This camera has a Leica MP viewfinder with blue coating glass.

Appearance Condition
The camera was just repainted in black paint on solid brass. The condition is like new.
Optics Condition for Finder
The viewfinder is pristine with no haze or fungus. The rangefinder is working very well.
Functional Condition
The camera was cleaned, lubed, and calibrated before modification. All functions are working perfectly.
The shutter speed is accurate, and the light meter is working well.
